An accountant by trade, I discovered the delights of felting through a friend.
Following a few courses of basic shapes, I had the urge to create my own designs based on my love of hares. This in turn led to broadening my horizons to cute hedgehogs and hens.
My new studio, is in the beautiful Wiltshire countyside on the edge of Salisbury Plain. The fields and woods around me are a constant source of inspiration thanks to the many visitors to our garden and the sights we see walking Raphy, our nutty Weimaraner.
Playing around with materials and needles, I decided to recreate our handsome boy Raphy, a Weimaraner. This has led to me taking on some commissions to needle felt loved pets. Given the time taken to as accurately as possible replicate your pet from photos submitted, this is done on a limited number per year.
I use a variety of natural and dyed wools such as Shetland, Merino, Cheviot and Blue Faced Leicester.
